TNA Video Vault - A ReviewA Look At The New Service Provided By The Wrestling Company
Recognising that lots of people are downloading their PPVs online for free, TNA have introduced the 'TNA Video Vault' in an effort to combat online piracy.
The internet has given us many good things - the ability to read the news as soon as it happens, online encyclopedias containing more or less everything and videos of the downright bizarre. However, there is also a dark side to this phenomenon, as the internet has made it simple to watch and download copyrighted material illegally. TNA has realised many people are guilty of this crime, and have launched a new website which aims to make their programming accessible and most importantly, affordable. What Does The TNA Video Vault Contain? The TNA Video Vault has all of the three hour pay per views that have been released on DVD. These become availiable on the vault as soon they have been released in disc format, which means customers of this online service are not getting a worse service than the people who purchase the DVDs. In addition, all superstar related DVDs such as 'Kurt Angle: Champion' are online as well as the extremely popular 'Global iMPACT!' and all other TNA history DVDs and 'best ofs'. The variety of this service is really outstanding. Is the 'TNA Video Vault' Affordable? Most definitely. The best thing about this service is the price. To watch an individual show, it costs the buyer a measly $3.99. For a monthly membership, the cost is $7.99 a month and for a yearly pass it is only $49.99. Considering one could watch every TNA PPV availiable to date in this time period, this is excellent value. There truly isn't a better value wrestling video website in the world. How Does the Actual Player Work? The 'Video Vault' is powered by Neulion, and this makes it very easy to find what is wanted. For example, if a viewer wanted to watch 'Hard Justice 2005', they would just have to click on the 2005 PPVs section and it would be there. The quality of the videos is also absolutely fine. However, to be fair, this should go without saying for a service which the customer is paying for. However, one should be warned that the PPV's have no chapters, so it is imperative to take the exact time down where you are up to. Also, occasionally, if the volume is turned up high, a loading click can be heard. This is only a minor irritance but should be noted. Also, it should be said that the shows are just availiable online - it is not possible to download the shows to DVD. However, this is fair enough as TNA would have the original piracy problem if they allowed this. Is the 'TNA Video Vault' Worth My Money? Considering that individual DVDs can be priced at $20, being able to watch over 50 shows legally for just under $50 is superb. Soon enough, the flaws will be ironed out as well making this an excellent investment. This really puts 'WWE Classics' to shame. Rating: 8.5/10 Visit the TNA Video Vault website for more details.
